Virgin Radio is undertaking an advertising and marketing campaign to promote its involvement at a host of top sold out festivals this summer.
The campaign ties in with the station giving away ?shedloads? of tickets to see headline bands like Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who and Artic Monkeys at festivals right across the summer including the Nokia Isle of Wight, T in the Park, Reading, Leeds, the Virgin Mobile V festival and a new event, London?s Calling at Hyde Park.
Activity started today with extensive outdoor advertising across London using Primesight and JC Decaux. The creative by ThinkFarm features Virgin Radio?s Multi-Sony Award-winning Breakfast Show DJ Christian O?Connell promoting ?The Big Festival Ticket Giveaway? on Mega 4?s, Mega 6s, Premier 250s, Premier 450s, Premier 1,000s and Premier Portrait 48 and 96-sheet billboards.
?The Summer festival season is always a massive hit with our millions of listeners,? said David Andrews, Marketing Director at Virgin Radio. ?This campaign is all about connecting with people who haven?t been able to get their hands on tickets. We?re using an attention-grabbing creative to communicate that thousands of listeners will win money-can?t-buy tickets to all the major UK festivals by simply listening to the UK?s only Rock and Pop radio station.?
Media planning and buying for the campaign was conducted by Starcom.
