For the first time in a licence advertisement under Ofcom, just one application has been received for the Perth FM licence.
The application comes from Radio Perth, which propose a high quality service of local news, topical information and entertainment designed specifically for the Perth area, combined with a broad mix of popular music.
Perth FM is a local company which have operated many RSL broadcasts in the area. The bid is backed by Mr Mark Page. The application bid should be avaliable to download from the Ofcom website on Monday. Even though Ofcom has only received one application, the Radio Licensing Committee will still meet to discuss the proposals of the bid, and are expected to announce the winner within the usual six month period.The proposed frequency, 106.6 MHz, for this licence is subject to international agreement on radio spectrum usage.
