GMG Radio, home of the award winning Real Radio brand is set to increase its national presence on Digital Radio and Sky channel 0146 with the launch of a new Real Radio service from today.

The new line up will include 8 hours of live broadcasting, including a live Breakfast Show with Tony McKenzie, live Drivetime with ex Heart presenter Rob Wain and the double Sony Award nominated Umberto will provide a live nightly phone in show.

The national Real Radio schedule will broadcast on DAB across the North East, North West, and the West Midlands, as well as on Sky Digital across Europe.

09/08/06 *CORRECTION/UPDATE* Current digital simulcasts in Yorkshire, Scotland and Wales will remain local. This new investment in DAB by GMG Radio continues to highlight its commitment to the medium.

GMG Radio?s Group Programme Director, John Simons said: "This stand alone service will give Real Radio's digital listeners a real reason to tune in, and boasts a line up of some of the country's most experienced broadcasters".

Schedule highlights:

0700 – 1200 Tony McKenzie
1200 – 1600 Kyle Evans
1600 – 1800 Rob Wain
1800 – 2200 Paul Emmines
2200 – 0100 Umberto
0100 – 0600 Non-Stop Music Through The Night
