hit40uk regains top spot

After losing out to Radio 1's Official Chart Show in the last audience survey for the very first time in over a decade, hit40uk has climbed back up to become the nation's favourite chart show once again.

The latest audience figures were released last Thursday, and coincided with the relaunch of the show, with Capital Radio drivetime's Lucio taking over Simon Hirst as presenter, and with EMAP's Big City Network stations replacing the Galaxy Network.

hit40uk recorded over 400,000 more listeners compared to Radio 1, with 2,265,000 of the national audience tuning in. With the addition of the EMAP stations, hit40uk forecasts that this will boost the figures to more than 2.4 million.
