Kelvin plans sports station

Former talkSPORT boss and founder Kelvin MacKenzie is planning to launch on online sports radio station next year.

To be known as, the station will offer live streaming for eight hours a day, eventually extending to 24 hours a day later in the year.

Kelvin's business partner, Michael Franklin is also ex-talkSPORT and together they are planning a different service to the national AM station.

"Mike and I are sports nuts and believe there is a place for an intelligent sports-based station. I still love Talksport and do not see what we plan as competing with its output." said Kelvin.

The station website is still under construction but will feature podcasts and blogs when complete.
