David Mansfield backs DAVE fm

Former GCap boss David Mansfield has joined forces with Communicorp and Absolute Radio to apply for the new South Wales FM radio licence. The application, known as DAVE fm will target the lads and dads generation of 20-44 year olds playing a variety of Rock music.

Mansfield is listed as Chairman of DAVE fm, which is just one of the bidders for the new licence. DAVE fm proposes a Rock music format based on, but not identical to the JACK fm format which won Absolute Radio a licence in Oxford this year.

In the application, DAVE fm plans split news and split commercials for the West and East of the region, from studios in Bridgend, with a Welsh music and language commitment in daytime programming.
