Hazlitt “delighted” to join GCap

After much speculation, Fru Hazlitt's been officially announced as the new Managing Director of GCap London.. She'll also join the board of GCap Media plc from 1st May 2007. The former VIrgin Radio boss will be responsible for Capital Radio and Choice FM as well as the company's national commercial sales and online departments.

Fru, 43, will report directly to GCap CEO Ralph Bernard. She quit Virgin Radio earlier this month, after 18 months as Chief Executive. Before that, she was Managing Director of Yahoo! UK & Ireland for two years, and was previously European Sales Director and Director for Sales and Marketing responsible for Yahoo! across nine countries in Europe.

She has 20 years of sales and marketing experience within the media sector across magazines, newspapers and radio, most notably at the Guardian Media Group and Capital Radio where she was sales director from 1996 to 1999.

Group Operations Director Steve Orchard will continue to have responsibility for the One Network – the 42 stations outside London – all national brands including Classic FM, Xfm and Gold, and content across the whole GCap portfolio.
