Red Dragon DJ reinstated

Red Dragon FM Evening Show presenter Allan Lake has been given his show back after apparently being sacked last week for giving out his Programme Controller's mobile number on air. He'd been trying to get listeners to support his pleas to be kept on by the station by calling his boss.

Following his removal from the air waves, listeners set up a petition demanding the bosses put Allan Lake back on the Cardiff-based station.

In a statement the Programme Controller at the GCap Media station, Gavin Marshall, said, "I never doubted Allan’s capability as a presenter but the serious nature of the incident last week gave me no choice but to pull him off the show. Red Dragon prides itself at being at the heart of Wales and responds to listener feedback where possible. Allan will be hosting South Wales Select and providing there are no further incidences will continue in this evening slot."

Red Dragon told the South Wales Echo last week that it was not a publicity stunt and that Lake had geniuinely been fired. However, Allan's [link=http://www.allanlake.com]fan site[/link] contains a news article from a few weeks ago reporting that he would be on Red Dragon FM for 2 weeks from May 14th.

Lake has previously worked at a number of stations including Viking FM, Isle of Wight Radio, Galaxy 102 and GCap's digital stations Capital Disney and Core.
