New station for Manchester

A new radio station is set to launch in Manchester this month. In addition to new FM stations such as Rock Radio and Salford City Radio, a team of around 20 radio professionals are busy putting the final touches together for Manchester Radio Online, which launches this Sunday, 9th September.

ManchesterOnlineRadio.com will feature former Key 103 late night host James Stannage, ex-Galaxy Manchester breakfast presenter Irish Alan and Radio Caroline broadcaster Ray Terret. The station is proud to be local for Manchester, and will feature local news, events and bands.

Dave Foran, one of the partners in the new venture told RadioToday.co.uk: “We’re taking radio back to the golden days of real radio entertainment when people would actually make an effort to listen.

“We have comedians such as Dave Turquoise, a psychic (Stella) as well as DJs from the Manchester club scene. One of our stars is James Stannage, the original British shock jock who got his last station a £125,000 Ofcom fine. The interest we’ve had just for James is incredible.”

Manchester Radio Online, complete with its “Proper entertainment for discerning Mancs” slogan will launch at 9pm on Sunday 9th September.
