BBC opt-out for Milton Keynes

BBC Three Counties Radio is to provide a breakfast show for the Milton Keynes area, as an opt-out to the main programming. Morning:MK will air on 104.5 FM and will be presented by Luke Ashmead and Helen Legh from 6am till 9am each weekday.

The new show is a key element in the BBC's commitment to Milton Keynes following its decision to review how it covered the region, says Mark Norman, Editor of BBC Three Counties Radio, which makes the show.

"Milton Keynes has always been a central part of our future and, following the decision not to move into new premises in the new city, it's right that we now work to make sure that our programming reflects the needs and demands of what is a hugely vibrant, diverse and challenging part of the area we serve," he says.

"Morning:MK, with Luke and Helen, is very much the first step towards ensuring that people living in Milton Keynes have the opportunity to take part and have influence in the continued growth of the town."
