MuxCo wins Gloucestershire

Ofcom has awarded the new local digital radio multiplex licence for Gloucestershire to MuxCo. The only other applicant came from GCap Media's NOW Digital consortium. 11 services will broadcast on the multiplex, including Severn Sound, Star 107.5, Traffic Radio and BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

MuxCo Gloucestershire is owned by UKRD, Murfin Media, Town and Country and MuxCo Ltd.
The twelve year licence could achieve coverage of an area with an adult (aged 15+) population of around 460,000. MuxCo will also offer a wide selection of speech and music podcasts provided by a range of companies.
The full service list will be:
Severn Sound (GCap Media), Gold (GCap Media), Star 107.5 (UKRD), Smithy Rock (Murfin Media), Local Live (Town and Country Broadcasting), Easy Radio (Easy Radio Limited), Shuffle (MuxCo Gloucestershire Ltd), UCB UK and Traffic Radio. A Variety Rock and Pop service will also be offered but has yet to be named, and the area's local BBC station.
