More northern community stations

Ofcom has announced four more awards in its latest round of community licensing. The current round is focused on the North West, although one Midlands station has also had its application approved.

Licences have been handed out to Canalside Community Radio in Bollington near Macclesfield, Rossendale Radio in Lancashire and Merseyside college station KCC Live in Knowsley. Meanwhile, one Midlands licence has been given to Moorlands Radio in Biddulph, Staffordshire, whose coverage area borders the North West region.
Ofcom has declined licences to Kenni James' two prospective Cheshire stations Tatton FM and Halt FM, religious operation CCM in Congleton, as well as Kat FM in Crewe and Southport Community Radio. They are set to publish the reasons for the awards in due course.
