Canwest ready to sell Original

More consolidation could be on its way as Canwest Mediaworks prepares to exit the UK radio industry. The company has entered into a process to sell all three of its regional radio stations.
As reported in May, the company has received several approaches but will now start negotiations to sell Original stations in the Solent, Bristol and Aberdeen areas.

Previously, Rick Hetherington, president of European operations at Canwest said: "We have been approached about the stations, and anything is for sale at any time at the right price."
Canwest bosses told station staff on Friday that it is "considering the sale of its radio operations".
Potential buyers could include GMG Radio (owner of Real, Century and Smooth), Bauer Radio (extend the Magic brand?), and Global Radio (owners of Heart).
