Chris Cooper is joining Century Radio in the North East to commentate on Sunderland matches this season.
Cooper, who was previously head of sport at Century’s sister station in the north-west, replaces Tyne Tees broadcaster Roger Tames as the permanent commentator on SAFC matches, alongside former Sunderland player Gary Rowell, who starts his second season with the station next month.
He said: “Roy Keane is one of the most exciting up and coming young managers out there and the team are bound to keep going on to bigger and better things.
"The club is also a great place to be, the atmosphere is always electric and the fans are passionate, so to play a part in that will be great.”
