Radio Scilly is once again pushing the boundaries of local radio with its latest mode of traveling around the island to cover local news stories.
Introducing.. a bike sponsored by the islands’ bike hire shop, complete with a logo splash. The radio station, broadcasting to islands 30 miles off Cornwall is quite pleased with its greener alternative to a radio car.
Managing Director Keri Jones says it is important that the station maintains a high profile in order to attract the tens of thousands of visitors to Scilly each year.
The station has already secured the bus back of the islands’ only bus and earlier this summer, the station was given the first sponsorship on the cover of the islands’ phone directory at no charge. This was in recognition of the work the station does for the community.
