South Hams headed to Plymouth?

In a recent ruling, Ofcom have granted a request for the co-location and a strategy of programme sharing between South Hams and Plymouth Sound, two radio stations that currently stand only twenty miles apart.

South Hams has been given permission to relocate from its existing premises in Kingsbridge to the Plymouth Sound studios and if and when it comes in to effect will see the introduction of shared programming between the stations for six hours during the daytime.
In its ruling, Ofcom stated: “Co-location makes sense and programme sharing could work well,” but warned: “We will be particularly concerned that the level of information specific to the South Hams area is not lost.”
