The Radio Academy Trustees have formally elected Bob Shennan to take over the position of Chairman from John Myers.
Bob was also announced as the new BBC Radio 2 Controller last month.

GMG Radio chief executive John Myers [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.3977]announced[/link] his semi-retirement last year, and has stepped down from both his GMG position and as Chairman of the Radio Academy this week.
At the time, it was [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.3983]announced[/link] that Lesley Douglas was to replace Myers as Chairman of The Radio Academy. However, after Douglas resigned from her position at BBC Radio 2 and left the radio industry, the search was on for a replacement.
In his weekly newsletter, Radio Academy Director Trevor Dann said: "Under Bob's leadership we'll continue trying to make the Academy more useful and more relevant to all our members. We're especially keen to improve our provision of skills training and our schedule of networking opportunities outside London."
