Ann Widdecombe MP is to presenter the mid-morning show on LBC 97.3 for two weeks, whilst regular host James O’Brien takes a break.
Ann will present the live phone-in show from Monday 10th to Friday 21st August, between 10am and 1pm.
LBC 97.3’s Programme Director Jonathan Richards said: “Ann Widdecombe was the overwhelming choice of LBC listeners as the person to sort out Parliament as speaker. Therefore I’m delighted she’s joining London’s Biggest Conversation to bring ‘order’ to our daily debates. Straight-talking and full of common sense views, Ann will be a great listen.”
Ann Widdecombe MP said: "I very much look forward to my stint of presenting for LBC. I thoroughly enjoy the audience reaction and anticipate some lively calls. It means that I shall not grow stale from a lack of stimulating debate in recess!”
Ann has been MP for Maidstone and The Weald for more than 20 years but will retire at the next election. Last month she put herself forward to be Parliament’s new speaker saying she wanted to “clean up the place”.
