IRN goes football mad with Sky

IRN client stations had more than their fair share of audio to pick from last week with extra clips from Wembley.
Sky reporters Laurence Mora and Richard Suchet were on the scene as 15 cities submitted their bids to host matches as part of England's bid to host the tournament in 2018.

1966 World Cup winners Jack Charlton and Roger Hunt joined Paul Gascoigne, Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Mike Summerbee and Archie Gemmill at the national stadium to back their local areas.
In a hectic three hours, more than thirty former players and representatives were interviewed and fed out to the IRN network from its commentary position.
Andy Ivy, Executive Producer of Sky News Radio, which provides the IRN service, said: "We provided a huge amount of material of regional and local interest with reporters working in relay at the dugout by the side of the famous Wembley turf then dashing to use the ISDN line in the press box. It was great to hear Gazza on good form – cracking jokes about Newcastle's nightclubs."
