Kid Jensen gets London honour

Planet Rock and Gold DJ, David ‘Kid’ Jensen, has become a Freeman of the City of London.

The presenter picked up the honour at a ceremony held at The Guildhall, which recognises his charity work with the Bobby Moore Fund and Cancer Research UK.

Jensen joins a distinguished group which includes Lord Nelson, Winston Churchill and Florence Nightingale. Should he wish to, David can now drive sheep across London Bridge and walk through the city with his sword drawn.

On receiving the award, David said: "I have always been fascinated by all aspects of the rich and colourful history of the City of London and so this honour is very special and will be treasured by me."

David also co-hosts his Planet Rock Saturday show with Rick Wakeman and presents “Another Dimension” on Sundays. The station won the Sony for Digital Station of the year at this years awards.

He also presents on Gold with a weekday morning show from 10am, and a Saturday show from 1pm.
