The Breeze heads to Bristol

Celador Radio has confirmed to RadioToday.co.uk that the much speculated re-brand of Bristol's Star will go ahead.

Star will become The Breeze on February 14th 2011, and has the format in place to network all but seven hours of programmes per day.

Celador already operates The Breeze in Southampton and plays "the smoothest sounds in the South". The new station, which will broadcast on 107.2 FM will have the strap line "the smoothest sounds in the South West".

The [link=http://radiogoss.wordpress.com]RadioGoss[/link] blog has speculated on the change of name ever since Ofcom allowed a format change for the station to allow more shared programmes and fewer programmes aimed at specific parts of the community.

The Bristol frequency was [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.6249]bought[/link] by Celador in September 2010 along with JACK fm from Tomahawk Radio Ltd.

The launch of The Breeze will be supported with a full mixed media advertising campaign.
