BBC country man joins Tindle

Axed BBC Radio Suffolk country show presenter Brian Mann is joining commercial rival Town 102 in Ipswich to continue his weekly programme.

He’ll join the Tindle-owned station from next month to present ‘Town Country’ on Sundays 2-4pm.

Brian has been the face and voice of the local country scene for the past 21 years and makes the switch from 10th April. Brian says he’s looking forward to his new weekend home. “Listeners can expect to hear a familiar mix of the old and new, together with regular competitions and chances to win,” he said. “The country scene in Suffolk has never been more vibrant and I’m really pleased that Town 102 recognises this.”

Town 102 Programme Director Tom Kay added: “As a local lad myself I know how important country music is to the people of Ipswich. Town 102 is proud to champion this. Brian brings with him a huge following and I’m delighted to welcome him, particularly at a time when Town 102 is celebrating our best ever audience figures.”
