5 Live to recruit new travel reporters

BBC Radio 5 Live is advertising for new travel reporters to join the station for when it moves to Media City UK.

The new Salford Quays-based staff will play a “key part” of 5 Live’s on-air sound when the station moves later this year.

The Beeb says successful candidates will have an excellent radio voice and some experience of broadcasting. Shifts will vary from Breakfast (6-10am) through to Drive (4-7pm weekdays). There’s also the opportunity for occasional weekend shifts.

Demos need to be sent along with five facts as to why you feel you would be an ideal voice for 5 Live.

More details at the BBC North Jobs site here.

In total there will be 2,300 BBC posts based in Salford Quays with approximately 1,500 posts relocating from either London or Manchester City Centre. 5 Live will be joined by BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Children’s, BBC Learning, BBC Breakfast and BBC Sport.
