Sarah replaces Morrell at Real Radio NE

Sarah Graham has returned to her North East roots to take over as mid-morning presenter at the region’s Real Radio.

She takes over from Jonathan Morrell who’s left the station after five years and is emigrating to Perth in Australia.

Sarah was most recently presenter of the afternoon show at Real Radio Yorkshire and before that she work in both on and off air roles at fellow GMG Radio stations Century 105.4 in Manchester (now Real) and Real Radio Wales. She also previously co-presented Real Radio network show ‘Fun on the Phones’ with John Morgan (aka John Myers!).

She took over the show last week and told us: “It’s great to be back! I’ve been all over the place but it’s fantastic to be able to come back to the North East and join the team at Real Radio. I feel like I’ve got huge shoes to fill but I’m loving it already.”

Jon Kirby, Programme Controller at Real Radio North East, said: “After 5 years it was very emotional to say goodbye to somebody who’s been a consummate professional and involved in some of the station’s biggest award winning successes, but we couldn’t be happier as Jonathan sets off on his big adventure in Oz. Heritage presenters like Jonathan are difficult to replace but we are thrilled to have attracted such an experienced talent as Sarah, who has fitted into the team instantly.”
