Jonny Gould joins Simon Bates on Smooth

Smooth Radio has hired sports media specialist Jonny Gould to anchor its extended breakfast sports bulletins during the Olympics.

Jonny will be reunited with breakfast presenter Simon Bates from Monday – more than 15 years after they first broadcast together on talkSPORT.

Group Programme Director John Simons told “Jonny’s a great talent and I’m delighted he will be joining Simon in the studio for breakfast, delivering extended sports bulletins to the Smooth audience during the greatest sporting event on Earth.”

Jonny is currently CEO at Sportsmedia Broadcasting Ltd. He’s also on Extra Time on talkSPORT and as a Saturday Sport pundit on Sky News.

Listening in to Simon the other day..first time in years as i am not a Classic listener and am outside any Smooth catchment….made an old idea sound fresh and modern..The Golden Hour….i would recommend all young presenters listen to the skill he has in making five seconds interesting and sound like a real link and not a speed or throwaway…forget that god given voice..being born with a great voice is a gift from your god, whoever he,or she , may be….its the short sharpe link..without talking up the web site!!..thats a great skill…he would be great on Radio 2 ….

It Is Good That Smooth Radio Is Having Olympic Sport Updates On Their Station I DoThink Simon Bates And Jonny Gould Is Good But Smooth Radio Should Get Des Lynam To Do Olympic Sport Updates And Jim Rosenthal As Well That Would Be Good Wright Now

So much and so good for Jonny Gould! But when will brother Ash (the senior producer) be back on the airwaves? He’s missed.
