More changes for Real Radio NW Breakfast

One-half of Real Radio North West’s breakfast show Sam Walker is leaving the station to join BBC Radio Manchester for mid-mornings.

Sam joined Real Radio in April this year, replacing the Two Girls and a Guy breakfast show which started in January.

Previously Sam presented Key 103’s afternoon show for two years and has also presented at Xfm and BBC Radio Manchester. She joined BBC Radio 5live in 2011 presenting Double Take the Sunday news programme with Anita Anand.

Kate Squire, Managing Editor of BBC Radio Manchester said, “We’re delighted Sam is joining the team. Sam is one of the best radio presenters in the North West and we’re sure she will be a huge hit with listeners.”

Sam said:”I’m thrilled to be joining the fantastic team at BBC Radio Manchester and really look forward to presenting a show which will bring together Greater Manchester with the latest news and discussions.”

It’s not known at this stage who will replace Sam at breakfast, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.

I wonder at this point will we are Darren and Lorna on breakfast, all nicely in place for the Heart brand? Stuff anyone on mid mornings, as that isn’t a long term fix anyway.

The breakfast show on Real belongs to one trio only – Ditchy, Salty and Debs. Get them back and see your figures to up again.

Real 105.4 should be sold off, it’s a millstone around Global’s neck.

David Heane and Parksy could do breakfast together, could work well possibly.

This is how Heart could be:
6-10 David Heane and Darren Parks
    10-1 Toby Anstis
    1-4 Debbie Mac
    4-7 Glen Hunt

    6-10 Jo Lloyd
    10-1 Toby Anstis
    1-2 Non-Stop Music
2-6 David Heane – hits and sports coverage
    6-7 Non-Stop Music
    7-12 Club Classics
6-10 Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis
    10-12 Jason Donovan
    12-4 Jo Lloyd
    4-7 Vodafone Top 40
7-10 High School Days with David Heane
    10-1 Simon Beale

Keeps most of the existing line-up

However, the 105.4 licence has had bad rajars, but Heart won’t fix that, being uber-local will – Key 103 is the only real 24-7 local station in the area (apart from Imagine FM).

I want Real Radio North West bring Ditchy, Salty and Debs back to give massive boast. now it is still poor get rid of Marc Henry was ruined High School days after 10pm every Sunday nights, get rid of Helen Sweetland she is rubbish and get rid of Vodafone Top 40 it always boring and bring back Alex James and Steve Jordan in for stand by.

    6am-10am Oli Kemp (Weekend Breakfast)
10am-2pm Scott Hughes & Glen Hunt
2pm-6pm David Heane – hits and sports coverage
6pm-12am Real Club Classics with Jo Lloyd
