James said: “I can’t wait to get started at BBC Surrey, I live in the county with my family and feel passionately about the local area. Surrey is a great place to live and I am excited to be taking on the breakfast show. I’ve had a fantastic time at BBC Radio Oxford and it’s been a real pleasure to part of such a talented team.”

Managing Editor Sara David: “I’m delighted that James is joining us. He is a talented and experienced presenter who knows the county like the back of his hand – and I think the BBC Surrey listeners will love him as their new breakfast presenter.”

James’ Drivetime show at BBC Radio Oxford is being taken over by David Prever, as RadioToday revealed yesterday.
