Simon Hirst joins Gold for weekend show

Capital FM Yorkshire breakfast presenter and @JockFest speaker Simon Hirst is taking on a new weekend show on Global Radio’s Gold.

goldhirstyStarting tomorrow, Simon will host every Saturday from 1 till 5pm after filling in for other shows over the last few months.

Simon told RadioToday: “I’ve been a massive fan of Gold for quite a long time, as I’m obsessed with music from all decades. With 20,000 7” singles in my own personal vinyl collection, my friends call me a music geek…so the chance to play some of the greatest hits of all time on Gold during Saturday afternoon, after my weekday Capital Breakfast show is a wonderful opportunity for me.”

Gold’s Programme Director Adrian Stewart said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Simon to Gold. He has a huge passion for the music we play and is the perfect addition to our presenter line-up.”

Simon will be sharing the secrets of his successful breakfast show on Capital FM along with his producer Scott Myers at the upcoming JockFest social weekend at Alton Towers.
