BBC makes more radio programmes in Nepal

The BBC is extending its radio presence in Nepal with the launch of a daily morning news programme.

BBC Nepali is a new 15-minute radio show at 7.15am local time which aims to set the day’s regional and international news agenda for audiences across the country.

Audiences in Nepal tune in to BBC Nepali on BBC 103 FM in Kathmandu and via the country-wide network of over 260 FM stations which re-broadcast the BBC Nepali radio programming.

BBC Nepali Editor, Rabindra Mishra, says: “The BBC has a strong audience base in Nepal, and this expansion of radio programming shows our commitment to providing these audiences with highest-quality news and information. Our new morning programme will help set the day’s news agenda in a vibrant, energetic and engaging style.”

The new morning programme adds to the current BBC Nepali radio schedule which also includes a 30-minute evening news programme Monday to Saturday, a 15-minute Sunday news programme, as well as a 45-minute Sunday programme, Sajha Sawal (Common Questions), produced with BBC Media Action.

BBC Nepali offers news, information and analysis on radio and online via bbcnepali.com. The BBC Nepali radio programming is available on BBC 103FM in Kathmandu and via rebroadcasting stations across the country. BBC 103FM also broadcasts the BBC World Service programming in English.
