Nick Grimshaw does “soapbombing” stunt

The BBC calls it “Soapbombing” as Radio 1 breakfast host Nick Grimshaw appears as a guest in five television soaps.

Radio 1 tells us Nick’s Mum loves soaps and he vowed to try and get these cameos to make her proud. Nick plays a range of characters, from a Celebrant to a Caretaker.

“In a bid to make my mum proud of me, I’m going to do one better than Danny Dyer and rather than be in two soaps, be in five and hopefully then she’ll accept me!” said Nick.

And all this week Radio 1’s Breakfast Show will have a host of soap guests be chatting to famous soap fans.
The week was kicked off with Eastenders’ Shane Richie (Alfie Moon) and celeb Eastenders fan Wretch 32 on Monday followed by Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor (Sally Webster).

The guest line-up for the rest of the week is:

Wednesday – Home & Away’s Lynne McGranger (Irene Roberts)
Thursday – Emmerdale’s Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle)
Friday – Hollyoaks’ Steph Waring (Cindy Cunningham) and Alex Fletcher (Diane O’Connor)

Details of Nick’s cameos will be revealed on air each day and his fellow soap stars will be giving their insider opinions on his ‘starring’ roles.

There will also be behind the scenes interviews from Nick’s time on set.
