Radio 1 features Trock for Dr Who’s 50th

As the world goes Doctor Who crazy because of the 50th anniversary episode being screened this weekend, Radio 1 is celebrating with a look at the songs inspired by the TV series.

The Story of Trock (Time Lord Rock) is the first BBC network radio production for indie 2ZY, which is run by former BBC Radio Manchester Managing Editor John Ryan.

The hour-long documentary is fronted by Huw Stephens, who travels back in time to tell the story of how the sci-fi show has influenced music over the last five decades.

The producer of the programme is 2ZY’s John Ryan and it has been exec-produced by Jo Meek. Sound design is by Eloise Whitmore who is nominated in next week’s Radio Production Awards.

The Story of Trock goes out at 9pm on Monday (25th November) on BBC Radio 1.
