Global Radio’s newly acquired Real Radio XS in Glasgow will re-launch as XFM Scotland on Monday, after a weekend of non-stop music.

XS closed at midnight, Friday 4th April, with long serving presenter Tom Russell signing off with his final Friday Rock Show. “Have a smashing weekend” and “Give XFM a go” were his last words, followed by half a Real XS jingle, as you can hear from our recording.

Now XFM sweepers are playing till Monday morning when the station has a big announcement and a new line-up of Fraser Thomson on breakfast, Jim Gellatly on Drivetime and Tom on Weekend Breakfast. The rest of the output will come from London.

Global Radio kept hold of Real XS Glasgow in the recent Competition Commission ruling after buying GMG Radio, but sold Real XS Manchester to Communicorp. Details on the future of the Manchester station, which is still on-air as Real XS, are yet to be announced.
