Heart arrives in former Real Radio areas

After weeks of being told Heart is Coming, 2.3 million listeners to Real Radio are waking up to the arrival of Heart this morning.

Heart is now on FM for the first time in South and Mid Wales, Scotland, Yorkshire, the North West and North East.

Most of the breakfast and drivetime shows remain the same with a few changes (as seen below) and instead of a networked Real Radio from Manchester, listeners will hear networked Heart programmes from London. Toby Anstis will air from 10am, Matt Wilkinson hosts afternoons from 1pm, local programmes 4pm till 7pm then Roberto, Jenny Francis, Simon Beale and Jenni Falconer through to local breakfast again at 6am.

The Heart brand is owned and operated by Global Radio in all areas with the exception of North Wales and Yorkshire where it is franchised to Communicorp.

Here are the local breakfast shows from today:

NORTHWEST

Breakfast: Joel and Lorna (Joel replaces Glen Hunt)
Drive: Russ Morris (replacing Oli Kemp)
Weekends: Debbie Mac

NORTHEAST

Breakfast: Gary and Lisa
Drive: Justin and Kelly
Weekends: Sarah Graham

YORKSHIRE

Breakfast: Dixie and Emma (Emma replaces Gayle Lofthouse)
Drive: Rich Williams (replacing Ian Brannan)
Weekends: Ian Brannan

SOUTH WALES

Breakfast: Jagger and Woody
Drive: Jason Harrold
Weekends: Dave Brookes

NORTH/MID WALES

Breakfast: Spence McDonald and Fiona Sadler
Drive: Oli Kemp
Weekends: Rachel Howarth

SCOTLAND

Breakfast: Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey
Drive: Paul Harper
Weekends: Steve McKenna

In addition, Heart North West / North Wales Coast is now Capital, with the following local programmes:

CAPITAL FM ANGLESEY AND GWYNEDD

Breakfast: Alistair James
Drive: Kev Bach

CAPITAL FM NORTH WALES/ NW

Breakfast: Graeme Smith and Sarah Storey
Drive: Ben Shepphard
