Ofcom has received 27 applications for community radio stations in the East and West Midlands.
Applications for the area, known as “Region 7″ in the third round of Community Radio licensing by Ofcom, appeared on the regulators website recently.
Out of the 27, three are from BFBS to run an FM service at RAF Cottesmore and RAF North Luffenham, MOD Stafford and RAF Waddington.
There are four stations proposed for Leicester, three for Wolverhampton, two for Birmingham, two for Stoke and another one for Stafford.
