BBC Coventry and Warwickshire has a new daytime schedule on Monday, meaning the departure of Annie Othen from the full time line-up.
Annie currently presents 10am til 1pm but will be replaced by Vic Minnett who is moving from her afternoon slot. Mollie Green, previously with BBC WM will then step in to host the afternoon show until a full time replacement is announced.
The Coventry Telegraph reports Annie was offered another undisclosed role at the station but she declined, instead deciding to pursue alternative career opportunities both inside and outside the corporation. The station says Annie will stay on for cover work.
Annie has been broadcasting locally since joining Mercia Sound in 1983 and joined the BBC 10 years later.
The BBC said: “BBC Coventry and Warwickshire have been reviewing their programmes and are making some changes to the schedule. After much thought and consideration, Annie has decided that, rather than take on a new role offered to her at the station, she has decided to pursue alternative career opportunities both inside and outside the corporation.”
Sarah Harness, editor of BBC Coventry and Warwickshire said: “Annie is a true broadcast professional and we would like to thank her for her commitment and dedication.
“She has been a stalwart on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire since its launch and we look forward to hearing her back on air with us soon.”
