New logos will accompany the new Place radio stations when additional local stations are launched in the year.
The new logo features a large YOUR word to match the strap line of Your Music Your Life, and replace the long-standing ‘cog’ or ‘splash’ logos used by stations such as Rock FM, Metro and Viking for almost two decades.
Details of all the new stations were announced recently, meaning up to two brand extensions in each area – such as Radio City 1, Radio City 2 and Radio City 3. The Magic name will go from local AM stations and The Hits will get a local branding in certain areas.
All stations will get new responsive websites and include new apps that will enable listeners to access all three local services from one app. Each area will also get a rejuvenated street team.
Commenting on the marketing strategy Nick Button, Place Marketing Director said, “This multi-platform brand identity is vibrant, cohesive and really unifies our extended ‘Place’ local radio offering whilst maintaining what’s at the heart and soul of every single local Bauer station – their relationship with their listeners and their locations”.
The new Place Portfolio multi-platform identity will be rolled out from January 2015.
