Julia Hartley-Brewer and Larry Lamb are both leaving Global’s national speech station LBC.
Weekday afternoon presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer has been with the station for almost four years and said goodbye to listeners this afternoon. Former EastEnders and Gavin and Stacey actor and presenter Larry Lamb presented LBC’s Sunday morning show from 11am-2pm.
An LBC spokesperson confirmed the changes to RadioToday, saying: “We can confirm both Julia Hartley-Brewer and Larry Lamb will be leaving LBC. We would like to thank them for all of their hard work and commitment and wish them all the best for the future. We will announce LBC’s new schedule shortly.”
Julia Hartley-Brewer said: “After almost four years in the hot seat hosting three hours of talk radio every single weekday I’m leaving LBC today. It’s been an honour and a pleasure to work at LBC with so many talented and brilliant people both on air and off air and I will miss everyone here. I want to say a big thank you, especially to my amazing producer Rachel, who makes it all happen, but most of all I will miss the amazing LBC listeners who call in every day of the year to share their opinions, stories and personal experiences. I am so proud to have been a part of LBC, thank you for listening.”
Larry Lamb said: “After two fantastic years with LBC, I have come to feel part of the family. It’s sadly time to say goodbye, for a while anyway, as I join the cast of New Tricks on BBC1. But don’t worry I hope to be back one day. Thanks to everyone who has made the whole experience such a joy!”
Larry leaves at the end of this month.
Replacement presenters have not yet been announced but information is expected shortly.
