Heart Scotland breakfast presenters Robin Galloway and Adele Cunningham have said sorry after a technical error put their microphones live after their show had ended.
RadioToday understands the studio ‘switching’ failed on Heart Scotland’s East transmitter, meaning instead of a feed of Toby Anstis from London, a production studio went live. Robin and Adele then commenced preparing content for a future show, attempting to call a listener.
But when the caller didn’t answer, they left a message suggesting the caller leaves her office desk and talks to them from the toilet. Later, listeners heard a personal conversation between the two which included clear use of the words sh*t and motherf***er. They then went on to discuss circumcision.
In a statement to RadioToday, they said: “We are really sorry for leaving our mics on this morning and apologise if anyone was offended.”
Listeners took to social media on hearing the banter at 10am Tuesday, saying: “just heard them swearing and talking about circumcision on Heart radio” and “Didn’t know the mo fo phrase was acceptable on the radio lol”.
Robin has only recently returned to Heart after working for Bauer after being let go from Heart (Real) in 2010 for a joke on Ed Miliband which went wrong in 2011. Adele joined Robin last month for the new show.
