Metro Radio 2 changes name to Metro 2 Radio

Bauer City Network has made a slight change to its ‘2’ and ‘3’ network stations in Newcastle.

Metro Radio 2, which was Magic for the North East, rebranded along with the rest of the Magic stations on AM across the North earlier this year. The change has also affected Metro Radio 3 which is now Metro 3 Radio.

But Bauer has confirmed to RadioToday the slight change has been made to protect the long term identity of the brand. A Spokesperson said: “On the 21st September we re-branded the station’s sub-brands to Metro 2 Radio and Metro 3 Radio – these new names have appeared on-air and across all of its digital platforms.”
