Heart to sponsor Friends on Comedy Central

Heart has partnered with Comedy Central to sponsor Friends with branded idents for three months starting January 1st.

The five and ten second spots will see Heart presenters Mark Wright, Jason Donovan, Jamie Theakston, Emma Bunton, Jenni Falconer, Zoe Hardman and Toby Anstis recreate famous scenes from Friends in the context of a day at work in the Heart studios.

There will be more than 30 idents featuring different scenes from Friends, including the one where Ross and Chandler move a sofa into Ross’ apartment, and some of the best-known lines from the series including “how you doin’?” and “we were on a break!”

Adam Johnson, director of marketing at Global, said: “Heart is all about feel good music and Friends is the ultimate feel good sitcom so this is a perfect match. We wanted our sponsorship to feel totally relevant to the show by recreating viewers’ most loved Friends moments, while showcasing Heart’s all star presenter line-up.”

Global worked with PHD on the partnership. The idents were created by HOW NOW.
