Media Sound Holdings has appointed Chris Birks as its new Programme Controller for the group’s four Sussex stations.

He’ll also host the breakfast show when he joins on February 22nd, from Heart South Coast where he is currently breakfast show producer.

Allan Moulds, Group Managing Director of Media Sound Holdings says: “Chris is a creative young programmer who will help deliver us a fresh new breakfast show with lots of interaction. He clearly understands our target audience and his passion, flair and communication skills will be a real asset to the programming team.”

Chris has been a breakfast presenter and producer with several companies including his current employer Heart. He’s also been Head Of Programming at Pearl FM in Dubai. His first job with Media Sound Holdings will be to recruit a co-host / breakfast producer.

To support Chris, Pete McIntosh is being promoted to Assistant Programme Controller in Sussex.

At the same time as the appointments in Sussex, Isle Of Wight Radio Programming Director, Paul Topping will take on an additional role as ‘Head of Digital’ for the group.

Allan added: “During our recent strategic review Paul did an excellent job in leading the development of our digital strategy, and now he will take on even greater responsibility for the delivery of that strategy across the group, ensuring that we achieve best practice in all areas.”
