Bauer’s KISS brand has launched in Norway on DAB+, and Finland on FM over the last few weeks.
The move marks the first time Bauer has taken its brands outside the UK. KISSTORY is also now on-air in Norway, also run by local management and content teams.
It follows Bauer Media’s acquisition of Finnish commercial radio business Radio Nova from broadcaster MTV, part of the Bonnier Group and SBS Radio from Discovery Communicatons in 2015, which saw Bauer have operations in the UK, Poland, Germany and Slovakia. Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
KISS has replaced The Voice in Finland.
Bauer Media UK CEO Paul Keenan commented: “More KISS is great for listeners across Europe. Outstandingly successful in the UK, I am confident that it will deliver highly valuable audiences in the Nordics“.
CEO of Bauer Radio Norway, Lasse Kokvik commented “KISS in the UK has grown to entertain more Millennials than any other Bauer Media brand. It’s extremely influential for an audience that’s difficult to reach. KISS Norway’s ambition is to become the market-leader in this audience”.
CEO of Bauer Radio Finland, Leena Puntila commented, “KISS – ’The Beat of Finland’ is set to be a fantastic addition to Finland’s thriving radio landscape. We’ll offer music and programming that will appeal to our countries’ millenials with an ambition to grow our share of listening in this market“.
