BBC World extends FM to Tobago

The BBC World Service has erected another dedicated FM transmitter, this time on the island of Tobago.

Locals will now have access to BBC programming 24 hours a day, on 98.7FM. Three other services for the Island have also been launched, BBC 89.1 FM Antigua, BBC 104 FM Jamaica and the BBC 98.7 FM service which has been available on the neighbouring island of Trinidad since late 2007.
Key programming includes Caribbean Report, the BBC Caribbean's flagship programme each morning and the evening drivetime.
Debbie Ransome, Head of BBC Caribbean, says: "I am delighted that listeners in Tobago will now be able to tap into this service which is delivering the wider Caribbean and the world in FM quality. Through the wide range of BBC World Service programming, the world is being brought to Tobago with crystal clarity."
