Yorkshire applications invited

Applications to run community radio stations in Yorkshire have been invited by Ofcom today. The area includes the unitary authorities of York, East Riding of Yorkshire and City of Hull, the metropolitan counties of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire; and Selby. Closing date is 26th June 2007.

Ofcom will accept proposals for stations on AM and FM, apart from in the city of Leeds where only AM is available. Applications have already been invited for the North and Northeast of England, with northwest applications set to be accepted later this year.

A fee of £600 will be payable for each application submitted. This fee will not be refundable in any circumstances.
