Digital talkSPORT in Germany

talkSPORT has official broadcasting rights to the 2006 FIFA World Cup and to make the most of its live coverage, the station has struck a deal that also lets it broadcast on DAB digital radio in Germany during the World Cup.

The deal means that English football fans in Germany will be able to listen to an English radio station for up-to-the-minute World Cup reports and analysis on their DAB digital radios. They?ll also be able to take part in the phone-ins and give their reaction to crucial matches.

The service is available in Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart throughout the tournament and in selected other locations for key games. Instead of ad breaks, talkSPORT?s service in Germany will provide useful local news and information for football fans.

talkSPORT recently launched its branded PURE ONE DAB digital radio and fans who want to take the radio to Germany can pick one up exclusively in Currys for ?49.99.

Daniel Rose, Digital Development Director for talkSPORT?s owner UTV Radio, said: ?This is a great opportunity for talkSPORT to give the England fans the chance to keep in touch with all that?s happening in the World Cup, whilst supporting the England team in Germany and endorsing talkSPORT?s commitment to DAB digital radio.?
