USA: KFYE FM in California was once just another K-LOVE network station broadcasting prayer and bible readings. But now in an almost overnight switch, the station is calling itself ‘Porn Radio – all sex all the time’ and suggests that people under the age of 21 do not listen.
Songs with little in common except suggestive titles and lyrics fill the playlist, and the more tamer songs are heated up by adding recorded moans and groans. Regular playlist songs include Marvin Gaye with Sexual Healing and Why Don’t We Do It in the Road by The Beatles.
New station boss Jerry Clifton is highly talked about on American radio message boards and suggests the move has been made simply to get free publicity for the new station sound. If so, he’s done it!
