talk107 launches ad campaign

After a steady increase in listeners, UTV owned talk107 is about to launch a new marketing campaign to promote their new stap line of Seriously Entertaining Radio. The new campaign will use bus super sides, taxi’s, 48 and 96 sheets to target listeners in Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothian’s.

The adverts focus on talk107’s personalities, and has been devised by Edinburgh agency 1576, with media planning supported by agency Feather Brooksbank. It all starts Monday 21st May across the station’s transmission area.

Peter Gillespie, talk107, station director, said: “This will be the first major marketing campaign since our initial launch period. The aim is to take the station to the next level, to target people who are looking for a different kind of listening experience than that offered by the BBC as well as those who wouldn’t normally listen to speech radio.”

Adrian Jeffrey, 1576, creative director, said, “Working on the new talk107 campaign, we were given the brief to capture the personalities behind some of the station's most popular programmes. When you've got a man who runs his own republic, the proprietor of a madhouse and a feisty and funny breakfast duo to work with, creating strong advertising is made easier.”

Trivia: One of Edinburgh's RSL stations in 2002 (Blue FM) also used the same strapline.
