Ofcom has awarded the DAB radio multiplex licence for Surrey and Northern Sussex to MuxCo.
It is the eighth license to be awarded to MuxCo, who have also won licenses for North East Wales and West Cheshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, North Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire and Mid and West Wales.
The new licence is jointly and equally owned by UKRD and MuxCo Ltd. Eight digital services will initially broadcast from the multiplex, which are:
- 96.4 Eagle Radio
- County Sound
- Mercury FM
- Easy Radio
- NME Radio
- Shuffle
- Traffic Radio
- BBC Southern Counties Radio
Ofcom received only one application for the licence.
