Ford's is set to offer more car models which have the option of upgrading to DAB Digital Radio – the Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy ranges.
Digital radios are now available as standard on Ford Ghia, Titanium, Titanium X and Titanium X Sports. The Focus, C-MAX and Kuga have offered the option for several months.
On other models the Sony DAB CD system is offered as a £300 option, or you can have the Sony DAB 6CD for £500.
The news comes as Channel 4 abandoned plans to launch a second national digital multiplex, which would have offered three C4 branded stations within the next 12 months. The only station now broadcasting nationally which isn't available on FM or AM, is Planet Rock.
