Davis gets Today programme

Evan Davis is to become a permanent presenter on Today, BBC Radio 4's flagship current affairs programme.

Evan originally joined the programme in April 2008 on a 12-month contract and has become a popular presenter amongst the audience.
Mark Damazer, Controller, Radio 4, said: "Evan has been a boon to the programme. His clout when dealing with economics and business is obvious – but he has brought a relentlessly inquiring mind to all that he does."
Evan joined the BBC in 1993 as an economics correspondent for BBC radio and daily TV news programmes. In 1997 Evan became the Economics Editor for Newsnight and then in 2001 he became the BBC's Economics Editor.
